Knight Center seminar registration form
Dear applicant,
Thank you for your interest in attending a Knight Center for Specialized Journalism seminar.
Filling out this form expressing your interest in applying is the first step in the process. You must also submit the following:
- A resume, including contact information at work
- A statement of up to 500 words giving your reasons for applying.
- A supervisor's strong nominating letter that also agrees to cover salary and travel. Freelancers send a letter of recommendation from an editor you have worked with. Citizen journalists send a letter of recommendation from someone familiar with your work. Recommenders should mail the letter directly or send it from their email account to knight AT umd.edu.
- Three published articles (editors may send samples of edited work, broadcasters send one CD, audiotape or videotape).

Knight Center fellowships are competitive. Admission decisions are typically made within two weeks of the application deadline.
